ABSTRACT
Fast fashion encourages wear systems with a short service life. Nowadays, many fashion-doers tend to buy fast-fashion products to follow the trend to be considered up to date, so a few of these fast-fashion items end up in landfills and become waste into second-hand clothes. This study used qualitative methods, with a literature study on how fast-fashion trends are developing nowadays, then observing the behavior of teenagers in clothing, and interviewed people who feel the impact of fast-fashion trends. Finally, conducting upcycling experiments mixed media techniques on second-hand clothes. The upcycling method used to reprocess second-hand clothing is reprocessed using the upcycling method made by mixed-media techniques to produce new products that have the same quality, aesthetic value, and economic value, even higher than the previous product. It can extend the life of clothes from fast fashion. In this study, the bazooqu brand will be a case study in research on upcycle and the application of the mixed media technique used.
