ABSTRACT
COVID-19 pandemic shifts learning methods and classroom conditions with new normal requirements. We need better classroom design to ensure that learning activities will be held in a healthy, comfortable, and safe environment. Classroom and study room with limited space, as in schools or dormitories need further arrangement. The limited space classroom conditions require a new layout arrangement following social distancing guidelines, furniture design that prevents the spread of the COVID-19 virus, and the fulfillment of other facilities. Through interviews, field studies, and literature studies, the classroom design has been developed to meet the needs of students and teachers’ activities within these new normal conditions. The result shows that the new classroom design can be adapted to the requirements of formal learning, group activities, and furniture alternated design. With this new classroom design, a solution is expected to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and increase the comfort and safety of students during teaching and learning activities.
