ABSTRACT

COVID-19 brings misery to people around the world, including Indonesia. One of the strategies carried out by the government to make the public aware of COVID-19 is through advertising campaigns. Most of the media are filled with public service advertisement (PSA) campaigns related to COVID-19. This phenomenon has attracted the author to examine the processes presented in these PSAs to find out what on earth occurs through this type of process. The purpose of this research is to find out the type of process through the SFL approach in COVID-19 PSA, which will later reveal the phenomena related to COVID-19. Furthermore, this finding can be used as a reference in making creative strategies for advertisers related to PSA for COVID-19. This study uses a qualitative method to reveal social conditions occurring in the community analyzed based on natural data collection.
