ABSTRACT

This study aims to discuss the development of interior design and architecture in the realm of the virtual environment. Nowadays, virtual environments are becoming more common. Thus, many architects and interior designers have spotted new opportunities to extend their design frontiers into the virtual world. This study uses a qualitative method. Data were collected by means of a literature review. The analysis proceeds hand-in-hand with other parts of developing the qualitative study, namely the data collection, and the writing of findings. The results show that today's digital acceleration brings many possibilities for interior designers and architects. Some of the impacts that occur due to the development of the virtual environment, in general, include the rise of the digital economy and the rise of digital assets. In addition, this also causes a change in the business model where interior designers and architects in the virtual environment are no longer consultants but content creators.
