ABSTRACT

The increase in Covid-19 patients is not being facilitated by the availability of patient care facilities. Data show bed occupancy rate (BOR) trend for treating COVID-19 patients in West Java has touched 90.32 percent in 2021, therefore efforts are needed to transform a place or space other than a hospital with a design that facilitates medical personnel in optimizing patient care and also as a form of healing environment. The result of the research is how the idea of adaptive reuse of buildings will be applied to Health Protection approach as design concept. This study used a mixed method with an R&D (Research and Development) approach. The purpose of this research was to make a design prototype to transform Telkom University Dormitory as an alternative to the Independent Isolation Building (ISOMAN) and could be a reference or model in designing a building that can be used as a location for self-isolation.
