ABSTRACT

Character education is deemed equally crucial with vocabulary acquisition to young learners in this day and age. Yet, exciting teaching media was required to pique students’ interest to deliver those notions to young learners. Therefore, this research aimed to discover the importance of flashcards as a teaching medium to improve young learners’ vocabulary acquisition regarding character education from the teacher's perspective. This research is mixed method research. The data were obtained through questionnaires and interviews. The subjects were two English teachers in a kindergarten. The questionnaires and interviews emphasized the teachers’ perspectives regarding the importance of flashcards as a teaching medium while improving students’ vocabulary acquisition about character education. The result indicated that using flashcards was deemed necessary since it greatly piqued students’ interest in improving their vocabulary acquisition while strengthening their understanding of character education.
