A descriptive qualitative approach was employed in the research. The findings are in the form of descriptions and narratives based on data obtained in the field. The results of the study show the role of Gawai Dayak in shaping the attitudes, behavior, and character of adolescents in every implementation process. There are distinctive functions and meanings between Gawai Dayak in Malo Jelayan Village and that in general in West Kalimantan forming the uniqueness and characteristics as the efforts of the local community and government to build the character of youth based on the values of the nation's personality. It was discovered that there were guidelines for behavior to avoid unwanted things, supervision from parents (the main characters), awareness of human relations, punishment for violations, mutual respect, gratitude, and social and economic aspects helping shape the character of adolescents in the implementation of Gawai Dayak. To conclude, the whole process of the implementation of the Dayak Gawai has social control over the important figures in the Dayak community of Malo Jelayan Village. If the society's rules are violated, there will be punishment given to the teenagers or community according to the procession of Gawai Dayak which has become the tradition carried out for a long time.
