ABSTRACT
Presentation of soil treatment solutions by vibro stone columns and rigid inclusions for the construction of steel storage tanks with references to the defined solutions for this type of structures considering the existing soil conditions, design loads and structural requirements, as well as references to the time and magnitude of the settlements. The main design aspects of steel tank foundations to guarantee permissible settlements were described, remarking the importance of the types of differential settlement to be controlled according to API Standards. Also, some considerations are made regarding the monitoring of those structures either in hydrotest or operation situations.
