ABSTRACT

The aim of the study was to establish the Student Information System (SIS) efficacy in readiness for BIM adoption in a selected public university in a developing country (Zambia).with focus on students ‘and staff perspectives. The study used mixed methods to collect and analyze data for this research. Online structured questionnaires were received from students and staff members in eight schools on the main campus. The total number of student participant questionnaires retained was 322 while those for staff members were 79 inclusive of staff members and school administrators staff members. The results from the study indicate that the SIS was evaluated as good because it met the primary student and staff requirements at school and department levels. Despite the SIS meeting the primary requirements, challenges associated with the SIS were established as: traffic congestion, inconsistent internet connectivity and outdated SIS infrastructure rendering it not ready for BIM adoption.
