ABSTRACT

Understanding the hydrodynamic behavior of structure under wave loads is essential to improve the safety and stability of the Submerged Floating Tunnel (SFT). Based on the Qiongzhou Strait SFT scheme, the dynamic characteristics of SFT subjected to regular wave were investigated deeply and thoroughly employing experimental tests with a scale of 1:60. The impacts of wave parameters on the dynamic response of the scaled segment model of SFT were discussed in detail. Further prospects for developing experimental research on SFT were given as well. The results show that the acceleration and displacement of the scaled segment model tend to increase nonlinearly with the increase of wave height. The ratio of wavelength to structure size has a significant effect on the dynamic response of the segment model. And the bottom anchor cable provides most of the restraining force for the segment model.
