ABSTRACT
This article presents a risk-based framework for managing earth retaining structures (ERS) in the Portuguese National Road and Railway Network, managed by Infraestruturas de Portugal, S.A. With a substantial inventory of over 20,000 ERS in mainland Portugal, the company has developed a specialized management system aligned with industry best practices in asset management.
