ABSTRACT
Surveys are a critical method to collect data about people’s behavior patterns to improve human lives. The question analyzed in this chapter is: which behavioral tendencies of students improve their academic performance? Student survey was carried out using a questionnaire of 60 questions divided into four categories: demographic, social, behavioral, and educational preference. This survey is part of the Indian government’s National Achievement Survey (NAS) to evaluate the learning outcomes of students and also investigate the underlying factors. Upon analysis, interesting connections were found as discussed in this chapter.
Children who play games perform better at mathematics. Having access to books at home and moderate television watching improves academic performance. Surprisingly, children who do not watch any television perform the worst. Taking private tuition has little to no impact. Finally, all insights were juxtaposed against each other, and the optimal behaviors were derived.
