ABSTRACT
The National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) fulfilled its primary objective of supporting the skilling system and upgrading skills to international standards with the help of a data analytics pyramid. A large amount of data was fed into the data analytics pyramid from the bottom level, that is, the status of skills, and then moving upwards to diagnose, predict, and prescribe upskilling principles.
The dashboard offers visual analytics (which can provide key performance indicators to decision makers) and at the same time inputs for the models that can be utilised for predictive and potentially prescriptive analytics. All data is completely anonymised and then processed to generate valuable data insights such as placement rates across age groups, states, sectors, and industries. Key insights were generated around formal and informal placement rates, course length, and technical education of candidates.
