ABSTRACT

Big data was analysed and sifted to present an interactive experience to readers during the Karnataka elections of 2013. Data was incisively sliced to help governance and the government’s welfare programs. All the data relating to candidates, including their wealth and qualifications, was collected and then presented in the form of colourful roulettes, cartograms, treemap visualisations, and bubble charts that provided critical information to the reader entertainingly and insightfully. The exercise received an overwhelming response from the public.
