ABSTRACT
In this section, we will show that fuzzy modeling methods have the potential to compete with neural networks. We will focus on forecasting time series which is one of the tasks successfully solved by neural networks (see [91]) due to their ability to model complex, nonlinear relationships in data. They can learn patterns occurring in the historical part of the time series directly and are particularly adept at handling the intricacies of time series data.
