ABSTRACT
A mathematical models and calculation algorithms have been developed based on the approximate inherent strain method within the theory of elasticity, which makes it possible to quickly predict the overall distortions of a large-sized cylindrical structure with a number of welded joints. The results of mathematical modeling of distortions of the a large-sized cylindrical vessel (diameter 3200 mm, length 12 m, wall thickness 10 mm) made of aluminum alloy when using the Friction Stir welding process and traditional Arc welding are compared.
