ABSTRACT
The issue of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) is a subject of relevance in global medical physics. The need to find solutions to the disparities in quality of education and training, gender balance, and access to advanced technologies is critical in improving the quality of medical physicists in underrepresented groups and regions around the world. This chapter discusses some of the challenges of EDI, highlights case studies of current interventions, and offers strategies for promoting a more inclusive medical physics community globally.
Addressing the issues of EDI in global medical physics can have a huge impact on improving patient care, advancing science and technology, and creating sustainable healthcare systems.
