ABSTRACT
The building called Rocca Possente is located in the hamlet of Stellata di Bondeno (FE) in the open floodplain of the Po river, an area declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1999. The tower building has a four-pointed star plan due to its military mission of protecting and controlling the territory and waterways. Indeed, there was a similar building on the other side of the Po river, thanks to which important customs duties were imposed on river traffic.
