ABSTRACT
The monumental complex of Villa dei Ronchi, built by the noble Caprara family, originated in the early 1500s, and has seen its extension continually evolve with the addition of new buildings such as the church, dovecote, towers and courtyard. The seismic events of May 2012 caused the Villa dei Ronchi to suffer some of the most significant cracks in the earthquake area. Indeed, the Villa is burdened by major through cracks on all elevations, particularly the south elevation, while the turret on the facade collapsed disastrously after the seismic thrusts.
