ABSTRACT
In order to support the choices and activities of local administrations for risk improvement of historical centers, the final content “Work before to avoid after. Risk Prevention and Value Creation” proposes a methodology of integrated, multidimensional, and transdisciplinary investigation. Reconstruction and risk improvement are to be intended as a dynamic process of progressive reduction of hazards in which physical structural and socio-economic elements collaborate towards this purpose to guarantee the safety of Cultural heritage, but also to promote innovative forms of development and revitalization, to increase the resilience of local communities and add value to the territory. Various case studies and proposals are brought together as examples of tools that could be used to implement this methodology.
