ABSTRACT
The research focused on the theme of safeguarding the memory of Cultural Heritage after traumatic and destructive events, the chosen case study was the Mariupol Theater. The theater at present is almost completely destroyed inside, but the main façade and some external walls still remain standing: starting from high-resolution videos and images of the ruins found on the internet, a 3D model of the georeferenced building was reconstructed using the Perspective Restitution technique that had the same proportions and dimensions as the original.
The idea behind this work is to produce a model that can also be viewed on mobile devices via an augmented reality app by anyone who is on site looking at the ruins of the theater. The model will also be a starting point and will be developed on a BIM platform for the collection of materials, information and images produced by the local population, and will offer the opportunity to reflect on conservation and restoration as an aid to the preservation of heritage and social identity at least within an intangible virtual space.
