ABSTRACT

This paper focuses on an alternative way of connection between sandwich panels and steel elements which is gluing. The results of experimental research of the connection of monocomponent polyurethane glue between sandwich panels and steel elements are presented. The influence of the application of glue connections on the resistance and stiffness of sheeting made of sandwich panel as well as its ability to cooperate with structure has been determined. Comparison with the traditional way of connecting by self-screwed fasteners has been made. The FEM analysis of the sheeting were also performed. The results confirm the potentiality of effective connection between sandwich panels and steel elements as well as with each other, which may allow to include the sheeting cooperation in designing.
