ABSTRACT
The article presents selected design aspects encountered during the implementation of the newly built M-7L steel-concrete bridge in Wolin, which is a part of the investment consisting in the construction of the S3 expressway on the Świnoujście-Troszyn section in north-western Poland. A cross-sectional presentation of design solutions and technologies used in the implementation is presented, focusing mainly on the task related to the launching of the main span of the arch bridge. Broader considerations are devoted to the problem of designing slender webs of box girders longitudinal stiffened at two levels. A computational approach to the dimensioning of the subject webs is proposed based on the developed envelope of allowable normal and shear stresses and verification whether the stress for each considered load combination in each cross-section are within the envelope.
