ABSTRACT
The paper examines the peculiarities of replacing the former USSR emblem with the image of the emblem of Ukraine – the Trident on the shield of the “Motherland” monument. A detailed description of the structural parameters of the emblem of Ukraine is provided. The manufacturing process is considered concerning steel structures depicting the emblem of Ukraine and facing plates. The sequence of dismantling the former USSR emblem and mounting the image of the emblem of Ukraine on the shield of the “Motherland” monument is highlighted. The peculiarities of this process are pointed out, related to the fact that all these works had to be performed at a considerable height. The general view of the “Motherland” monument's upper part is presented after the installation of the image of the emblem of Ukraine was completed.
