ABSTRACT

The article analyses the technical condition of underground structures for various purposes built in Russian Empire and the Soviet Union in the period from 1878 to 1984. Defects and damages of metro tunnels and road tunnels in Crimea are shown on the examples of specific objects of construction. The parameters determining the physical deterioration of underground linear structures are revealed. On the example of the Moscow underground and railway tunnels of the Baikal-Amur Mainline, the typical methods of defects elimination are considered. On the basis of the analysis and systematization of defects it has been established that the category of technical condition of underground transport structures is determined not so much by the year of construction as by the quality of design and survey and construction works, adopted design solutions, as well as operating conditions. The absence of a regulatory base for design and production of repair and restoration works in the Russian Federation is noted. To compensate for it, a relevant standard of the Mosizhproekt JSC organization has been developed.
