ABSTRACT

This contribution introduces a novel process modeling approach for mechanized tunneling, focusing on its application in cost estimation. The approach provides a framework for integrating various tools, enabling significant optimization opportunities for the modeled processes. These optimizations can target different aspects, such as reducing the required workforce or improving scheduling efficiency, directly influencing project costs. Streamlining these factors offers a more efficient and cost-effective way to plan and execute tunneling projects. This integration of modeling and optimization tools paves the way for more informed decision-making and enhances overall project management.
