ABSTRACT

Heading towards sustainability a lifetime perspective is crucial, including geologically related information management. If all geotechnically related information from early planning to as built design is continuously stored in the same database and transparently shared as the project evolves, the best geomodel would be always available. During the design phase this allows for the most probable description of the subsurface conditions missing no information. During construction, monitoring of sensor data allows the team to keep control of the behavior of the geo-technical-tunnel system. Also, at the same time having access to all investigation data, the geo-technical design model and monitored sensor data, gives the opportunity to calibrate the tunnel design model for optimization of future sections of the asset. The GeoBIM concept is developed for always enabling easy access to all subsurface data, including sensor data, enabling a flexible workflow and quick adaption to the user needs.
