ABSTRACT
The structural performance of urban shield tunnels is influenced by the surrounding complex environment and the disturbance of the adjacent construction. it is essential to scientifically design robustness for ensuring the high reliability of shield tunnel. In this paper, an improved robust design method is presented. The temporal-spatial evolution of disturbance intensity and the uncertainties in the disruption process of adjacent construction are emphasized. Firstly, the settlement is chosen as the primary indicator to divide the shield tunnel into various sections. Then, the robust design is established based on multi-objective optimization. Moreover, the expressions for partitioning disturbance intensity are derived, the stability of existing tunnel during the adjacent construction disturbance is studied. Finally, the robust design result improved based on stability analysis, the recommendation about optimal repair time is proposed. The research results may provide important references for the safety and sustainable construction of shield tunnel.
