ABSTRACT

In order to be able to take ecological sustainability aspects into account in the planning and construction phase of tunnel structures produced by tunnel boring machines, a research study was carried out to determine the impact of different materials for annular gap material on the greenhouse potential. For this purpose, various formulations of annular gap grouting materials with different compositions were considered. Life cycle assessments were prepared for all these materials and their respective Global Warming Potentials (GWP) were determined. The GWP of the constituents of different annular gap materials are presented. The results of the life cycle assessments are compared with each other so that the CO2 reduction potential for different materials can be deduced.
