ABSTRACT
The paper describes the new Double Shield TBM design with additional shield dedicated for the execution of the drilling holes for pregrouting. The project includes the construction of a new drinking water transmission system consisting mainly of transmission lines, pumping stations and clean water basins as well as connections to existing main pipelines and the existing water treatment plant in Oset. The facilities are built underground.
The TBM tunnel from Stubberud to Huseby is 11km long with a 7.08m diameter. The access and service adits, for about 7km, from Oset, Stubberud and Haugerud, are constructed with drill and blast methodology.
Geology is formed by Schists, Marl, Limestone and Shale. A significant stretch of the TBM Tunnel is with pregrouting works to be included in the TBM Production cycle. After the excavation it will be installed a particular precast deck in the tunnel for the final water piping.
The object of the paper is highlight in the design of the TBM with all the special equipment required to execute the pre-grouting in a very productivity way, the assembly of the TBM in the cavern, the logistic for feeding the TBM along the alignment, optimizing the logistic of the jobsite. All the activity always takes into consideration the community and stakeholder in the populated area of the city of Oslo.
