ABSTRACT
Itaberaba station is one of the 15 stations under construction in São Paulo Line 6 and it deepest with 66m. Integrated in a dense urban area and with a tight schedule to comply, the implementation of such an endeavor would naturally be of great challenge. During the investigation phase, it was found that the station would be implemented in the center of an extensive and deep Fault zone. Line 6 under a Build&Design&Operate scheme has the capacity to develop and adapt to the geological conditions not foreseen at the conceptual design. The inherent challenges due to the high depth meshed with a Fault led to multidisciplinary studies in search of a holistic solution that would allow the station to be implemented under adequate safety conditions within a feasible time frame. This paper focuses on the decision process and complete geometric and architectural changes undertaken to successfully complete the Project.
