ABSTRACT
Digital twins have become an increasingly important asset for tunneling where they are used for manifold practical purposes. One of these purposes is tunnel monitoring where a 3D reconstruction of the tunnel is enhanced by animated visualizations of sensor measurements. Visual analytics dashboards are also an essential method of analysis. So far, these two methods have not been seamlessly combined. In this paper, we present a holistic tunnel monitoring data analysis system. It links a visual analytics dashboard with a 3D viewer, allowing users to study measurements time series in their geospatial context. The system enables multi-modal analysis of monitoring data, which is especially useful for investigating critical values and complex relations.
