ABSTRACT
This article presents the practical implementation of an effective Risk and Opportunity Management System for São Paulo Subway Line 6 - Orange, Latin America’s largest infrastructure project. Going beyond standard frameworks like ABNT ISO 31,000 and PMBOK, the system enables the early identification of risks that could impact the project and its resources and the organization, by implementing regular multidisciplinary team meetings, which ensure comprehensive risk assessments across various dimensions, such as technical, environmental, safety, and reputational concerns. As a result, the system facilitates the development of targeted mitigation and preventive strategies. Tested in various scenarios, the system has been crucial in preventing disruptions and improving emergency response. Central to this success is Acciona’s SIMDB (Site Information Model Database), a technological tool that supports real-time decision-making and efficient data management, playing a key role in effective risk management.
