ABSTRACT
This paper presents a new approach to safety, leveraging recent technological innovations to enhance the understanding of risks associated with various construction phases and facilitate the learning of safety measures. As part of the expansion of the “Autostrada A1: Firenze Sud – Incisa” project by Autostrade per l’Italia, a pilot initiative was implemented during the construction of the new San Donato tunnel. To improve comprehension of safety procedures, an interactive method was adopted: method statements were produced in the form of operational sheets and digital content, utilizing an information model integrated with regulatory safety requirements. These materials were then used during safety inductions via electronic devices (tablets and LED walls). Subsequently, a generative AI-powered quiz with real-time feedback was employed to verify workers’ under-standing of risks and safety measures. This comprehensive solution raises awareness among workers and visitors, promoting a continuous safety culture.
