ABSTRACT

Construction of Moscow Metro facilities is carried out in the conditions of dense urban development. In some sections, there are 17-20 existing buildings and structures per 1 km of metro line length. The methods used to ensure their preservation imply long-term and expensive reinforcement of bases, foundations and building structures. In the course of the research we carried out a system analysis of the current standards, statistical analysis of the results of experimental observations, and mathematical modelling. On the basis of the analysis of the results of geotechnical monitoring at the previously passed sections, empirical dependences of deformations of the existing buildings were obtained when tunnelling under them with a shield with active bottom face loading, as well as empirical values of the soil overshooting coefficient. Technological safety measures have been developed, the purpose of which is to exclude structural solutions for reinforcing the bases, foundations and building structures of buildings and replace them with compensating technological measures.
