ABSTRACT

The surging adoption and proliferation of electric vehicles (EVs) have led to a substantial need for robust, dependable, and efficient electric vehicle charging station (EVCS) infrastructures. Nonetheless, establishing and integrating such infrastructures present significant hurdles concerning power system quality, security, and stability. This paper offers a comprehensive examination of these challenges, along with strategies for mitigation and an overview of pertinent technologies and protocols relevant to EVCS network deployment. The objective of this review is to furnish insights for the development of sustainable and high performing EVCS infrastructures, addressing challenges effectively and maximizing the associated advantages.
