We all suffer, even doctors. Especially tired ones; sad ones; young, frightened ones; or old, complacent ones. In this, two clinicians, one new and younger, one older and more experienced, write about patient suffering, doctor suffering, how these forms of suffering interact, and how they determine outcomes.
