ABSTRACT
All doctors sooner or later become patients, or one of our loved ones gets sick or injured. We then find ourselves in a different role in the same system in which we normally have power and a professional role. In this chapter you can read about how I, as a father, try to navigate my local hospital when my son is admitted after a bicycle accident and how the core values of what I teach my students about person-centred care are proven to be right.
