ABSTRACT
LiDAR is an important sensing tool for MASS (Maritime Autonomous Surface Ship). In order to improve the responsiveness of traditional visual AtoN (Aids to Navigation) to MASS recognition and perception, we have investigated several reflection materials suitable for visual AtoN. In this study, we test the AtoN with different reflection materials using commercial LiDAR in the field of automotive autonomous driving, and compare and analyze the formed point cloud images and reflectivity data. Based on the experiment results, we propose an improved scheme, which effectively improves the perception ability of LiDAR to traditional visual AtoN.
