ABSTRACT
Reproductive health education is considered taboo by society, especially for adolescents. Reproductive health education guides adolescents to avoid immoral acts, overcome sexual problems, and understand the boundaries of relations between men and women. This study aims to explore adolescent constructions about reproductive health to create a resilient young generation. The subjects of this study were the school organization core members of 45 public junior high schools in Sidoarjo Regency, namely a total of 270 students or youth. The focus of this study is adolescents‘ construction of reproductive health. The data collection technique used is a questionnaire, with the data analysis technique used as a processing technique. The results of this study indicate that adolescents’ construction of reproductive health education is examined from 6 components, namely: (1) In general, adolescents have a good understanding of the concept of reproductive health; (2) Reproductive Education Objectives; (3) Reproductive Education Curriculum; (4) In general, teenagers choose the lecture method as a method of reproductive education; (5) Adolescents choose reproductive education sources, including three things, namely parents, school and community; (6) Dominant factors that influence the construction of Reproductive Education, namely the mass media, parents and the community or the surrounding environment. This study recommends the importance of developing a comprehensive sex education curriculum, especially reproductive health education so that students have a complete understanding as an indicator of forming a strong young generation.
