ABSTRACT
With the proliferation of digitalisation worldwide which is increasingly making traditional approaches redundant, the study explored the adoption level and barriers to digitalisation among Namibian quantity surveyors (QS). Using a cross-sectional survey design and census sampling technique, data was collected from thirty-three (33) registered QS firms in Windhoek. Self-administered structured survey questionnaires were delivered to the respondents physically and via emails. Through frequency measure and mean score computations, the results revealed that digital tools like WinQS, DimX, Microsoft Project and Microsoft Excel are highly adopted by Namibian QSs. However, emerging technologies like BIM, Candy, PlanSwift and Kreo are moderately to rarely adopted. Major barriers to digitalisation among QSs include financial related constraints, technological ineptness and organisational resistance. Therefore, the study recommends that QSs and relevant stakeholders invest into existing and emerging digital tools, and technological training to meet the ever-changing clients’ demands in the current digital era.
