Recent development of ISSMGE Asian Regional activities

In jubilee celebration of the launching 1^st Geotech Asia Conference of the International Society for Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering, this historical report of ge-otechnical engineering in Asia region is prepared. J. Zeitlen made a first report on the geotechnical activities in Asia in 1987 at the 8^th ARC and Z.C. Moh presented the similar report in 2011 at the 14^th ARC. The recent development of ISSMGE Asian Regional activities are briefly summarized from year 2011 to year 2025. This report describes about the membership societies, geological and geotechnical problems, climate change of Asian continental, policy of low-cost conference, officers of ISSMGE and Asia region, Asian Council Meeting, locations and hosting society of ICSMGE, Asian Regional Conference (ARC) on Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering, and Asian Young Geotechnical Engineers Conference (AYGEC). The technical program of 8^th–17^th Asian Regional Conference and the ISSMGE Technical Committees which were took placed in Asia are also presented. The last part of this report has been summarized the report of Time Capsule Projects in Asian region.
