ABSTRACT
In recent years, works to improve existing structures and strengthen their seismic resistance have increased. Pile construction in narrow spaces is constrained by the site and the construction process. Therefore, a construction method of soil-cement composite pile using a mechanical agitator has been developed. The purpose of this study is to clarify the lateral resistance characteristics of soil-cement composite pile. In this study, model scaled one direction loading tests were conducted. This paper examines 2 results from one direction loading tests. The first is quantitative lateral resistance of soil-cement composite piles based on the results of model load tests depended on load direction (strong or weak axis direction), pile diameter, restraint condition of pile circumference, strength of soil-cement, and existence of axial load. The second is failure mode difference during large displacement.
