ABSTRACT
Objective: To compare the distance between the apices of maxillary posterior teeth and the maxillary sinus floor based on age and gender. Method: This observational study analyzed panoramic radiographs of 70 subjects aged 17–45 years. The vertical distance was measured from the apex of each maxillary posterior tooth to the floor of the maxillary sinus. Data were analyzed using ANOVA and independent samples t-test. Results: Significant differences in distance were observed between age groups for the left first premolar (p<0.05) and the right second premolar (p<0.01). In terms of gender, a significant difference was found only in the right first premolar (p<0.01). Conclusion: Significant variations in the distance between the apices of maxillary posterior teeth and the maxillary sinus floor were identified based on both age and gender, particularly in the premolar region.
