ABSTRACT
This work focuses to develop a vision-based recognition system using only one camera, therefore making it background-independent and capable of functioning in different environments. Sign language recognition solutions are important because it helps in reducing the communication gap between the deaf community and the hearing population. Globally, over 466 million people have disabilities related to speaking and hearing loss. Technology can significantly improve their standard of living and provide them with opportunities they are capable of.
