ABSTRACT

This paper investigates an ultra-wide band claw shape slotted Microstrip antenna with a slotted ground layer constructed for the sub 6 GHz 5G, WLAN, and LTE applications. The suggested design accomplishes a greater impedance bandwidth of 5500 MHz and covers a frequency range of 3.98 GHz - 9.48 GHz, resonating at 4.7, 6.32, and 9.04 GHz respectively with peak gain of 3.41, 3.54, and 4.07 dBi, respectively, for desired applications. The envisioned antenna operates at n77 (3.3 – 4.2), n79 (4.4 – 5.0), n46 (5.15 – 5.92), n47 (5.85 – 5.92), n96 (5.9–7.1 GHz) bands of sub-6 GHz under 5G NR frequency bands and LTE bands of 46/47. The recommended antenna, fed by Microstrip feed embedded on FR-4 substrate whose relative permittivity is 4.4, has optimized physical dimensions of 18 x 29.5 x 1.6 mm3. The developed antenna is fabricated and evaluated. The designed antenna's measured and simulated results exhibit consistent results. This study presents a broadband antenna design that is a most appropriate competitor for sub-6 GHz 5G, WLAN, LTE, UWB communication and satellite applications. Its compact dimensions, desirable gains, and omnidirectional consistent radiation patterns make it an excellent choice.
