ABSTRACT
This study explores community dynamics on social media, focusing on the discourse surrounding the elimination of sexual violence on the Youth Network (Jaringan Muda) Instagram account, which actively addresses various cases of sexual violence in Indonesia to promote gender justice. The discourse on sexual violence has become widely articulated across social media platforms, offering an important perspective for analysis. This research adopts a political communication approach, employing qualitative data supported by quantitative findings. Data were collected through documentation techniques, interviews, and questionnaires. The findings reveal that the Youth Network community is highly active in discussing topics related to sexual violence, including gender equality, societal perceptions of the importance of eliminating sexual violence through legal measures, and the broader implications of these efforts. Moreover, the community frequently engages in intense debates with opposing groups in Indonesia who resist efforts to institutionalise legal frameworks addressing sexual violence. This active participation highlights the role of social media as a platform for advocacy, debate, and mobilisation in addressing social issues, particularly in advancing gender justice and supporting legislative efforts to combat sexual violence.
