ABSTRACT

Project POMHAZ (Post-mining Multihazard Evaluation for Land Planning) is co-financed by the Coal and Steel Research Fund and the Polish Ministry of Science and Education. Since September 2022, it has been implemented by an international consortium led by the French National Institute of Industrial Environment and Risks (INERIS). Project focuses on improving the hazard assessment and the risk management of abandoned coalmines. The main objective is to improve the methodological knowledge for practical realization of multi-hazards analyses, at the scale of a mining basin, in correlation with the main post-mining hazards. To achieve this objective, the hazards of the abandoned coalmines, their interactions and consequences on the urban development, were identified and analyzed based on multicriteria approaches and Decision Support System. An operational methodology and GIS tools was developed to provide a global representation of the hazards and have been applied to real case studies.
