ABSTRACT

The rotor/stator interference effect is one of the main sources of unsteady flow inside the compressor. The harmonic balance method can simulate the unsteady effects of rotor/stator interference based on the single passage grid, which is more efficient than the full annulus unsteady method. However, current research on harmonic balance technology focuses on the N-S equation, with very little involvement in harmonic balance calculations for turbulence models, especially transition models. This article implements harmonic balance calculations for the SA turbulence model, SST turbulence model, and https://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"> γ − Re θ https://www.w3.org/1999/xlink" xlink:href="https://s3-euw1-ap-pe-df-pch-content-public-p.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/9781003679561/4534099d-8b8e-4caf-a93c-a4db4c969ee8/content/inline-math10_1.tif"/> transition model, and conducts tests based on a single stage rotating cascade. The conclusion shows that for these three turbulence simulation methods, the harmonic balance calculation results are in good agreement with the results of the full annulus unsteady simulation.
