ABSTRACT
The research analyses determinants of Bengaluru retail investor investment in Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) mutual funds. With the help of primary data gathered from 100 respondents using a structured questionnaire and tested using regression and ANOVA, the research goes into sustainability values, ethical concerns, and anticipated return as investment determinants. The research establishes that investment satisfaction is not significantly affected by long-term return anticipation or long-term ethical belief and other behavioral and market-based determinants are at play. This research has vital outcomes for promoting investment into ESG funds by taking into account perceived risk, level of financial knowledge, and prevailing market conditions. Though narrow in scope by restricting itself to Bengaluru, this work makes new empirical contributions into the relatively less explored sector of Indian retail investor behavior towards investment into ESG mutual funds.
